Recommended sizes & shapes
Cap and chest patches are typically 3 to 4 inches; vest back patches can be 10 to 12 inches with top and bottom rockers. Reunion patches are often 3.5–4 inch circles.
Durability
Embroidered patches with merrowed borders are the standard for vests and caps. Sew-on attachment is recommended for leather vests and anything worn on motorcycles.
Design considerations
Choose a design that will still look good on a vest after years of riding and washing. Metallic thread works well for memorial patches. Confirm permission for national organization emblems and military insignia.
